New image chosen for the 2008 Concerts on the Square!

Over the last 24 years, Peggy Flora Zalucha has donated 25 images of her paintings for use by the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. These posters have been an important part of the success of Concerts on the Square®.

In 2008, a new tradition begins!

The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra sponsored a juried competition to select an image that reflects the spirit of this unique Madison summertime tradition. This competition was open to all Wisconsin artists and The Music Begins by Kathy Armstrong was chosen as the winning piece. This image is the featured artwork for the 2008 Concerts on the Square® posters and notecards, and is also on the label of the official Concerts on the Square® Wine – Wollersheim’s Prairie Fume.

The winning artist, as well as the top eight artists, will be displaying their entries in Downtown Madison storefronts June 18, 2008 - August 11, 2008. This is a fantastic opportunity for these featured Wisconsin artists and sales of the original artwork is encouraged commission-free by Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra.

The entries are at the following locations:

A Room of One’s Own • 307 West Johnson Street
Café Soleil • 25 North Pinckney Street
